FHS Boys Swim Team Defeats Jackson in Home Dual

The Farmington High School Boys Swim Team earned a narrow 75-69 victory over SEMO Conference rival Jackson High School in a home dual meet yesterday at the Farmington Civic Center pool.

Sophomore Gavin Eaton led the FHS scoring attack with his victories in the 200 IM and 500 Free to go along with posting his fastest relay split of the season while anchoring the 200 Medley Relay! Ari Woodson (50 Free) and the 200 Freestyle Relay team (Sam Woodson, Chris Orr, Jon Bone, Aris Woodson) also posted event wins on a day that the FHS boys relied on team depth to offset the speed and quality of the top Jackson swimmers.

Malachi Smith had his best scoring effort of the season with two second place finishes (200 IM, 500 Free).  Sam Woodson embraced the challenge of two new events on his way to 2nd place (100 Back) and 3rd place (200 Free) scoring swims while racing against swimmers who will challenge for points and high finishes at the upcoming MSHSAA State Championships.

Also of Note:

• Dylan Weaver finished 2nd in the 100 Fly with a strong first swim in the event (1:19.31)
• Titan Thomas dropped 18 seconds off of his personal best in the 200 Free (2:50.02)
